Star spangled fair
The Sonoma County Fair started up the other day. Though I was a bit disappointed that the Top Tech Junkie job/contest thing was canceled due to lack of sponser, the fair's an interesting place at any rate. I had already entered two things into the exhibiter section and both won second place in their catigories. One was based on this years fair theme (Spangle your star) and the other was a plushie of one of my fan fiction characters, Sailor Christmas.

An unfortunate end
What a bummer. I just found out that ex-mayor Bob Blanchard had just died 17 days after he resigned from office. Found out through the Press Democrat's e-mail and those who missed it can read the article here. Personally, I never met him, though it seemed he led a full life.

Commissions
I should have posted about this a few weeks ago when I added the page, but I'm into making custom plush dolls for those who'd be interested in commission me.

So close to wanting to give up on this computer
Dear computer, I did not give you permission to act up on my mom, which caused her to wake me up over an hour earlier....

The ups and downs of party crashing
Crashing the party of the (now) 8 year old neighbor boy wasn't such a bad idea. The boy knew me. Several of the guests knew me too... in fact all I initially did was show up to watch the kids beat the stuffing out of a couple of pinatas. Then they kinda invited me to join in the fun.. getting to get some of the candy that fell out of the pinata, a few pieces of cake, some gelatin... then they offered me some food. Two bowls of some sort of soup where it was mostly corn, some sort of meat (and in every bowl, a piece of bone for flavoring)... some lettuce, onions and radish if I so choose to put them in. Pieces of tostada shell awaited as well. Add some (green) tomato based hot sauce, some red chilli sauce... some store brand soda... and voila. A virtual feast. Was also given some party favors/goodies and some cicharones (can never spell that right off of the top of my head). I had some candy of my own that was sitting around for a few weeks so I handed most of them out. Fair trade with some of them. One of the girls there who also lives in my apartment complex exchanged some of the candy she got in her goodie bag for some of my candy. The kids then started getting more rowdy and since I didn't want what I got to get too squished, I went up a few stairs that led to where I live to put the stuff on a step for safe keeping. I then turned and not thinking that I was up as many steps as I was, I attempted to go back to watch the kids in as few steps as needed... unfortunately that meant that I fell and landed pretty hard. Scraped my left hand, right elbow and both my knees.
