About

January 20th, 2006 - the day that will start a few weeks of complete and total annoyance, stress, heartache and heartburn. My computer (named Chuu) of many years crashed and died due to a worm. I was able to reformat it, but it was never the same since. Not to mention that the CD Drive completely died and I couldn't re-install DSL no matter how I tried (before the CD Drive died, that is). Within the three weeks of no internet access from home, I managed to use the library for internet access. Fortunately, I had gotten my W-2s back from work so I managed to do an early tax return. With what I got back, I managed to buy a new computer tower with Windows XP Media Center Edition on it, and many other features. Unfortunately, the new computer (named ChuuTwo) was not compatable with my scanner or a few other items (namely the software that came with my digital camera).

Along with many other features, ChuuTwo came with a file folder of many oversized images. One of the images being of the Taj Mahal. It somewhat reminded me of the Moon Palace that was shown within the anime and manga called Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon (translated: Pretty Soldier Sailormoon). After many days of just looking at it, and looking at other site's layouts (mainly sites that had layouts for download/purchase), I decided to make a two variation layout that have one version for the 800 x 600 resolution and the other version for the 1024 x 768 resolution. I then copied the layout into a different folder and added a few pictures that I captured from the Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon S DVD to make a slightly different layout, since having had watched the above mentioned movie recently and came up with the perfect name for a site that's also connected to the layout: Silver Crystal Power.

After all that, I remembered that I had been toying with the idea of making a blog site for quite some time, but had never done anything about it...unless someone would count a few next to never used Live Journals and an equally hardly used DeviantArt account. At any rate, I found the script nessisary for updates, blogs, whathaveyou that I was also using as an update script on one of my other sites, since I didn't want to have the intrusive banner that most other site scripts (like Blogger) placed. Push come to shove and after finding a place to host it via Freewebspace.net's forums, I slowly but surely peiced together this site. I also decided just to go with the 800 x 600 resolution version of it mainly because it's the resolution I use, and also it'd be a hassle to try to work with both resolutions at the same time with all I wanted to put on the site.
